A weekend of black powder cartridge rifles, fellowship, and competition

Friday August 14th marked the next NRA/NMLRA Blackpowder Cartridge Rifle Regional match held at the Walter Cline Range in Friendship, Indiana. Match director Lora Parks welcomed 71 competitors for the Friday .22 match and then the Big Bore matches on Saturday and Sunday.

End of the 2019 season for the Miami BPCR club

We had a great end to the season for the Miami Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Club!

Here are the scores from Saturday and Sunday at Friendship.

Saturday Keith Ux took the win with a 29 and 5 chickens! He was also our chicken pool winner for both Sat. and Sun. Good shooting as always Keith!

Sunday our friend Steve Decker, from Michigan, was our match-winner with a 28! Our King of the Hill high animal champion was Jim Lemon with 353 animals. Congratulations Jim.

November 2nd Inline Silhouette Match at the Walter Cline Range

Congratulations to Bob Wetzler for taking top honors today at NMLRA inline silhouette match.

Some incredible shooting today by all competitors.

3 shooters went 19 for 20 and came down to shoot off for the win.

Course of fire was

5 chicken 200m

5 pigs 300m

5 Turkey 420yds

5 rams 500 yds

Shoot off at 500 yds was

Ram,Turkey, pig,chicken first to miss was out and Bob put on a shooting lesson all fell out at Turkey at 500 except Bob smoked it.

August Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Shoot - Pictures and Scores!

We had a great crowd for the August BPCR Match, 33 shooters on Saturday and 34 on Sunday.

It was an aggregate match and Marc O’Malley was the overall Aggregate Match Winner, congrats Marc on some great shooting!

We had competitors all the way from Georgia, TN, WV, MI Weather was hot and the conditions were challenging but as you know there is usually a nice breeze on the firing line.

The Versailles American Legion Junior Shooting Sports at the ISPRA Awards!

We’d like to send a large NMLRA congratulations to a local youth shooting sports team here in Southern Indiana. 

The Versailles American Legion Junior Shooting Sports Program is a youth air rifle program here in Ripley County. These youth marksmen practice at the NMLRA headquarters and raise money for their matches by working during the NMLRA National Championships. 

“Maggie, Richie, Joe and Tanner along with Steve and myself attended the Annual ISRPA Awards Banquet last night in Indianapolis at the Indiana War Memorial. We were notified a few weeks ago that our team won 1st. place in Sporter Class in an on line shoot. All 4 shooters with us won awards plus top team.”
