President’s Message

For my President's  Message, I am showing a  picture of Rod Scobee, our Operations Manager holding two TRAUMA KITS.  As my gift to the Association, I had eight boxes made and eight aluminum signs for their fronts. A box for each major range, offhand, bench, trap, skeet,  sporting clays, pistol, primitive, silhouette.

These will be on a post. THESE CONTAIN TRAUMA KITS- THIS IS NOT A FIRST AID BOX. If you cut a finger on a flint don't go opening these boxes. These boxes contain, among other things, Israeli blood-clotting bandages and tourniquets.

We have never had a major arterial bleed or any accident that threatened the life of any shooter since 1933 and that is countless millions of shots. BUT, we must be prepared.

My thanks go out to our Chief Range Officer, Rick Repovsch and Past President Marty Murphy, both directors, for helping me on this. I have tasked Marty Murphy to arrange for training in the proper use for all Range Officers. In closing I say strongly,  these are NOT to be used for the run of the mill first aid needs.

These are  ONLY for extreme emergencies and I wanted them placed all over our ranges, where they can be quickly accessed when the adrenaline is running. If someone has an arterial bleed there is no time to go running to the office hunting for a trauma kit. Thanking you in advance for your proper use of these boxes.

I am, Sincerely,

Brent Steele, President
