The Griffin Long Rifles have restarted our monthly matches as posted in Muzzle Blasts magazine.
2020 matches will be held on the First Sunday, January through September. Same schedule for 2021.
Matches are held on the multi-purpose range at the Griffin Gun Club, 550 Amelia Road, Griffin Georgia 30223
Our rifle matches are usually 25 shots with offhand muzzleloaders with AMS. Entry Fee of $15. Usually we shoot two targets @ 25, two targets @ 50 and one target @ 100 yards
Our Pistol matches are "On Demand' if several folks want to shoot pistols. Any ML pistol is legal with iron sights. One handhold for men two for women. The entry is $5. We shoot 10 shots slow fire @25 yards and 10 shots slow fire @ 50 yards.
Our matches are open for anyone, but juniors must be coached
We start at 10:00 am and usually, cash or meat prizes are handed out in the mid-afternoon
Our matches usually attract 10 or fewer shooters but the quality of the shooters is very high with several people, i.e. Clint and Haskel Richmond, Larry Hand and Warren Howard who appear regularly the winners circle at Friendship
