2009 Camping Rules and Rates

The National Spring Shoot will be held June 13-21, 2009, and the National Championship Shoot will be held September 12-20, 2009. The annual membership meeting will also be held during the Championship Shoot in September.



Retaining Campsites - If you wish to retain the campsite you held the previous NMLRA National Shoot, you must send the full combined fee of $261.00 for both National Spring Shoot and the National Championship Shoot. This pays for the reservation of the campsite and 1 person's camping for both shoots. For the National Championship Shoot ONLY, the fee is $130.50. Campsites may not be retained exclusively for the National Spring Shoot. Reservations may be made starting October 1, 2008 and the deadline for retaining a campsite and trailer lease (if applicable) is February 28, 2009. If you do not receive your confirmation by February 28, 2009, please call 1-800-745-1493 ext. 223 to confirm we have received your payment.


If you miss three consecutive shoots (June and September Nationals) you may not retain your campsite.



Reserving Unretained Campsites - Unretained campsites are not assigned until after March 31. Please designate the area desired, size of camping unit, and shooting range interest. Fees are as follows plus a $10.50 reservation fee: $15.00 per night for one person; $20.00 per night for two or more people.

Camping Rules
  1. Reservation privileges are acquired by occupancy of a specific lot at the National Championship Shoot, or through assignment by the NMLRA Camping Coordinator.

  2. If a member is unable to use his or her reservation by occupying the assigned lot at the shoot, he or she may retain the rights if the NMLRA Office is notified by letter or phone call received at least 5 days before the shoot begins; otherwise the campsite may be lost.

  3. No member may reserve more than one campsite.

  4. Fees are $15 per night for one person; $20.00 per night for two or more people; children under 16 are free gate admission and camping. Camping other than during national Shoot dates is $10.00 per night/per campsite-members rate. $15.00 per night/non-members camping with a member. This also applies to the week prior to the National Shoot Dates. Frontier Heritage Campground Fee will be $30.00 per night. $501.00 to retain the campsite (for two adults) you held the previous NMLRA National Shoot. The National Championship Shoot Only the fee is $250.50. Primitive will be $12.00 per night for one adult. $17.00 per night for two or more adults. Camping other than National Shoot dates will be free, however campsites must be pre-1840 camping only. Modern campsites are not permitted on the Primitive grounds.

  5. No money shall be refunded.

  6. Absolutely no alterations are to be made to the grounds or the campsite (Walter Cline Range) without prior written approval of the camping committee. This includes, but is not limited to, alterations to the service poles, breaker boxes, burial of electrical conduit or wiring, addition of gravel, drainpipes, railroad ties, decks, outbuildings. Under no circumstances will any electrical work be done except by the Electrician of the NMLRA. Anyone violating this rule may be removed from the grounds.

  7. Subleasing of campsites, tents, trailers, and "skip-occupancy" are prohibited.

  8. NO PETS OR ANIMALS are permitted on the grounds during National Shoots.

  9. Upon arrival at the NMLRA Walter Cline Range you must report to the camp shack before setting up camp.

You must provide membership card to enter the gate at no charge.

Note - reserve money does not apply on camping prior to shoot.
